In my opinion copyright law designed to protect the creator of original works.
Copyright infringement means that the right afforded to the copyright holder such as the exclusive use of work for a set of period of time are being breached by a third party.
If you are found guilty of copyright infringement you can be ordered to pay damages, the amount of damages depends on the amount of lost profits.
If i were you if you get the works of other always use Caution if its not your original work.
